Welcome to Chesney Hardcastle
Chesney Hardcastle is a charming Hampshire village in the heart of Jane Austen country, midway between Winchester, with its magnificent cathedral, and Southampton on the Southeast coast. It's filled with historic houses from the Middle Ages through to the nineteenth century, a manor house converted from a twelfth century abbey in the reign of Henry VIII, a medieval town hall, and many other delights for visitors.

Chesney Hardcastle is the home of the Netherfield Charity Ball, which raises funds for the Jane Austen House in Chawton. This year is the seventieth anniversary, and the committee is really pushing out the boat with a competition for the catering contract.
